Bracken walked along, blissfully unaware of anything suspicious going no. He stopped at the side of the river, sticking his hands in his pockets as he looked into the rushing water.

A dagger formed in Dunmharu's hand and he crept towards Bracken. Sneaking up behind him silently, his feet making no sounds. He liked possessing Star. She was so silent, so deadly. He got ready to stab Bracken in the back, and Star was able to quickly take control of her voice for a mere moment "Bracken look out!" She yelped as the blade went stabbing towards his back.

Doug took a deep, shuttering breath, then grabbed a can of beans. He walked over to the living room, where there was a large window, still broken from where Ratman had jumped out. He set the can on the ground, crouched down beside it, then stabbed his kitchen knife into it, causing beans to spurt out and get all over the place. He reached his hand into the bean mass and shoved mouthful after mouthful into his face, messily devouring the delicious food. He only used his right hand to devour, of course. Louis hated to get covered in food. Leon jumped slightly when he saw Doug stab the blood-covered knife into the food. A moment later he realized how stupid it was that he had been scared, as it was necessary in order to open the can. Why am I so jumpy today? It turned out that for most of the past five weeks or so, his wolf-side had been in charge, and only now was he starting to fall into the rhythm of being humanly conscious after all that time. He was much more confident when his wolf was active, and he had forgotten what it felt like to be in control. Letting out a soft sigh, the young man reached into the cabinet and took out his own can. He sat cross-legged on the floor a few feet away from Doug, placing the can in his lap. His nails grew into claws and he dragged them across the top of the can, making a loud screeching noise. He huffed when the metal only tore slightly; he proceeded to bring the can to his mouth and rip the top off using his fangs.

Bracken heard Star's voice, and he immediately whirled around, sliding backward just in time to dodge the blade. However, he wasn't on his feet enough to remember that he had been standing right next to a river. He tumbled into the water, resurfacing only to spurt out some liquid he had inhaled from surprise. He looked at Star, confused for a second. He had almost forgotten about the beast; their night together seemed so recent. He swam back a little so the beast wouldn't be able to jump on him. "What do you want?!" he shouted.

As the screeching noise went on, Doug stared at the boy with wild eyes. As soon as it stopped, he immediately went back to devouring his food. While the beans were uncooked, they most certainly had been better than what he was eating before this. "Mffin gffehr," he said through a mouthful of beans, continuously shoving more into his face.

"I want your life" The beast simply as a shadow orb formed in the palm of his other hand. Swirling darkly just above Star's moonlight pale skin. He flicked his wrist and the orb was sent flying at Bracken. Smacking Bracken in the head, sending a burning pain pulsing through him.

Bracken let out a scream of pain, squinting as the ball hit him. The pain temporarily immobilized him, causing his head to start to sink under the frozen cold current. He pulled himself together, aching with pain as he tried to get himself to the other end of the river.

Leon was too busy with what was in front of him to even acknowledge that Doug had attempted to say something. His eyes, the pupils now more ovular than round, were trained on the can in his hands. He lifted it to his face and gave it a hesitant sniff, just to make sure, before starting to lick the contents out, his tongue a bit longer than normal for a human. This went on for a few moments, a slow process. Then he growled impatiently and hooked a fang on the side of the can, splitting the entire thing in half, and was able to use his teeth to catch the food.

Doug looked at Leon. He didn't even have to take his pills to gain this person's trust. That was a rare happenstance. He was glad, because the pills were tough to come by, not to mention how Louis kept trying to throw them out. He looked down at the remains of his bean can, then shot up and shambled over to the pantry again. Without checking labels he grabbed another can, took it back to his place, and continued the procedure to burst it open. It was full of shoestring beets; he didn't really like them, before the apocalypse. But food was food. He quickly began devouring them in the same fashion he had with the beans.

Bracken let out a scream of pain, squinting as the ball hit him. The pain temporarily immobilized him, causing his head to start to sink under the frozen cold current. He pulled himself together, aching with pain as he tried to get himself to the other end of the river. Shadows started to swirl into a bundle of energy on the other side of the river. And a huge cat like creature formed. It looked as if it was a jaguar, but nearly twice as big. It's eyes glowing a bright green. The creature seemed to be made out of fire, but it was a black and grey fire. With a dark glow, nearly like a mixture of fire and shadows. It hissed at Bracken, it's claws unsheathed and ready to slice open his flesh if he tried to come up on this side of the bank.

Leon had finished his quickly, but it was hardly enough for his wolf; the other side of him preferred meat to vegetables, which was why the young man usually woke up with dead animals surrounding his body. But there was no meat in the room, and even the wolf was sensible enough to know that trying to eat Doug would not lead to anything good. So the brunette dropped the completely clean container to the floor and stood up to get something else, his tail wagging slightly.

Doug appeared as though he didn't notice the boy stand up, but his eyes were trained on his figure as he continued to eat his shoestring beets. They didn't taste very good, but boy was he hungry.
Bracken's eyes widened at the creature. He certainly didn't want to risk that... thing. He reached down to the bottom of the river, lifting up a wall of mud and shooting it at the shadow beast. He hoped it would be enough to distract it as he rushed onto the shore and started to run off.

The creature hissed as the mud slammed into him. Sending him flying into a tree. but another cat like shadow creature appeared in front of Bracken as he ran and pounced on Bracken. Snapping it's giant jaws at his face. But it wasn't to hurt Bracken, it was to get him to stay still. It used it's giant paws to pin his arms down. It's green eyes glowing vicious.

Bracken stared up at the beast, his mind racing. He kicked up his leg, not to kick the beast, but to send a chunk of earth rising from beside his hip and pounding the beast on the stomach, pushing it off of him. He used the short moment to get back onto his feet and start running again.
