Yeah I really, really like your dragon headcanons. I was going to suggest like each dragon rider would have a dragon with a different element and then I thought that's kinda cliche and stupid so nah.

So I found this really really useful list of species of dragons that I recommend we use but if not then I can always find another, or we could make our own types here it is: dragcave.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_Types

I like.
Now for the Guild. There's a small council of elders etc Anyone from ages 13 to 29 can become a hunter. People from ages 25-29 are considered seasoned hunters. Anyone younger than thirteen is an apprentice, anyone older than 29 are teachers. Dragons can only be killed with a special kind of steel. It can be made into arrows, daggers, swords and the like.

as yes steel you said it was special so i'm sure it'd be very important as far as foraging it and making weapons out of it and stuff like that but what kind of steel?

Morian Steel. Bit brighter than normal steel, stronger too.

Okay. So dragons haven't been a problem for at least a thousand years. They've faded into legend. As a result, the dragon riders, or the Old Ones are dormant. Sleeping in their mountain palace encased in ice. Kinda cliche but go with me. The dragons have started to become more reckless as more people settle north of the mountains. They're getting hungrier, and more brazen, attacking people out right. After the daughter of the Hunter is killed, the Guild is formed. Only a few dragons are killed, so the Old Ones still sleep. 100 years pass, and the Guild is getting bigger. More dragons are dying. And that's when the dragon riders wake up.
