"Not here." She closed her eyes tightly. "I don't want to live this life anymore..." She whispered, a feeling of helplessness filling her body. (( Gtg, bbt. Bye! ))

Bracken looked over at her, desperation filling his eyes. "Please no," he pleaded. She was the one person who he felt comfortable around, and now she was talking about leaving. He wasn't about to let that happen. "I don't want to be alone. You're the best thing I've ever found," he whimpered sadly. Sure, they weren't anything more than friends, but that was something he hadn't had for a very long time.

Amelia looked at him sadly. "I've felt so alone up until now. Now I feel helpless though. I wish I could turn back time, find the very first outbreak and shoot them in the head. Stop this from happening. I mean...If I can be immune, why can't I make you immune somehow." She sat up, hugging her knees to her chest. "It's so God damn stupid." She put her hands on either side of her head, her eyes closed. "What did we do to deserve this?"

Bracken sighed, pushing himself up and propping himself on his arms. "We didn't do anything. I've heard rumors that the virus was supposed to be some kind of biological weapon, but the testing went out of hand," he explained, glancing over at her, then to the fire. His green eyes glowed from the dancing flames. "If it's anyone's fault, it's whoever was making it," He hated to blame himself for things.

"Well, I hope the scientist that did the ship is either dead or watching what he or she did to us now. I hope that wherever they may be they were smart enough to leave a fucking cure somewhere. I'm sick of trying to be cannibalized by random assholes." She stared at the fire, her light blue eyes reflecting the fire making a soft golden yellow color. She looked down at her hands where the scars riddled her pale skin.

Bracken was glad for her to be off the topic of her leaving. He had the feeling she had been referring to suicide, which was something he didn't want her to do. "Hey, so... You know there's l-like strength in n-numbers, right?" he said, as if building up to something. He stared into the fire. "I have a place that I've b-been living at... If you'd w-want to join me," he offered.

Amelia turned to him, a gentle look in her blue eyes. She nodded quietly. "Strength in numbers." She smiled, turning to him a gentle golden glow covering the right half of her face while the other half was engulfed with shadow. "I'd love to if you'll have me." She scooted closer to the fire, warming her smallish hands. A shiver crawled up her back as a slight wind rustled her dark brunette hair.

Bracken grinned at her, his green eyes full of excitement. He looked back into the fire, lighting up his face. "It's a deal, then," he said, a soft smile on his face. "I live in a gas station in the middle of the woods," he explained. "There's no gas left, but I have some left over in a generator. It's really loud, but there's not very many zombies in the woods,"

She turned, her light blue eyes curious. "Less than 25?" She was gently stroking the blade of her knife now, trying to imagine how many of the grey assholes she could kill before she was mauled to death.

Bracken tapped his chin, trying to think. "I don't know, I haven't been everywhere in the forest. But there's usually only like, 8 within yelling distance," he explained.
(( shortpostbecause I gotta go eat dinner. ))

She grinned. "More than enough arrows to take them out." She grinned. "Maybe we should take care of them not tomorrow, but the next morning. They get blind in the morning, they are easiest to kill." Her eyes danced in the fire-light. "It wouldn't take long either and I'll be able to get all of my arrows back."

Bracken was happy that she was willing to join him. "Yeah, we'd have to do regular sweeps to keep them out, though," he explained, sitting up and clasping his hands in his lap. "Sometimes I tend to be followed, or they just wander in," he clarified. But regular sweeps would be easy, especially when they had two people to watch each other's back.
(( Quick dinner, I'm back. ))

Amelia nodded, contemplating ways to sweep. "Early in the morning would be best for sweeps." She closed her eyes for a minute. Think like my father would. She smiled suddenly. "With us both working together we can have each other's sixes." She grinned. This was the best thing that could have happened during a Zombie Apocalypse- well, apart from a cure.
(( Lame post, writing a paper xD ))

(( You're fine! :3 ))
Bracken nodded with agreement. "Early morning would b-be the best," he conceded, producing a little smile from the support she was willing to give. He didn't notice, but his stuttering problem was starting to lessen a little from familiarity. He had a thought, something he was curious about. "So have you met any other f-friendly survivors?" he asked curiously. He wondered if they would be able to make a small party, maybe even a colony.

Amelia frowned, looking down. "I met a few once, but...well-" She broke off, her voice cracking. "Well, they're gone now." Her heart ached. It was true, she hadn't known them for long, but they were alive. Well, they were alive and not trying to eat her. Her shoulders slumped. "That was two months ago."
